Each summer, people from across our community give their time, skills, and energy to help care for campers, support our staff, prepare meals, maintain the property, and keep camp running smoothly.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1838\" data-end=\"2144\">You don\u2019t need to have grown up at LBC to volunteer. Our volunteers include parents, grandparents, students, professionals, former campers, and people who are completely new to the camp community. What they share is a desire to help create a great experience for kids.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"5737\" data-end=\"5947\">\n<\/div><\/section><\/div><div  class='flex_column av-av_two_fifth-3b0d446bf9e6f7db91541aa567be4cdf av_two_fifth  avia-builder-el-3  el_after_av_three_fifth  el_before_av_one_full  flex_column_div  '     ><div  class='avia-button-wrap av-mtkka142-2907b5f094ffc3569624a61b3394c751-wrap avia-button-center  avia-builder-el-4  avia-builder-el-no-sibling '><a href='https:\/\/forms.gle\/J4Xb59pyzrdKNmJa7'  class='avia-button av-mtkka142-2907b5f094ffc3569624a61b3394c751 av-link-btn avia-icon_select-no avia-size-x-large avia-position-center avia-color-theme-color'   aria-label=\"APPLICATION\"><span class='avia_iconbox_title' >APPLICATION<\/span><\/a><\/div><\/div><div  class='flex_column av-av_one_full-2d22dc0500e159f2b39fe7a147caf14c av_one_full  avia-builder-el-5  el_after_av_two_fifth  avia-builder-el-last  first flex_column_div  '     ><section  class='av_textblock_section av-mtkkc9kw-56ff45b3fda586f95e58f2d6302d8b3c '   itemscope=\"itemscope\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/CreativeWork\" ><div class='avia_textblock'  itemprop=\"text\" ><p>Click here to add your own text<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"2146\" data-end=\"2179\">Summer Volunteer Opportunities<\/h2>\n<h3 data-start=\"2181\" data-end=\"2202\">Medical Personnel<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"2204\" data-end=\"2333\">Qualified medical volunteers work alongside the Camp Director to support the health and safety of campers, staff, and volunteers.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2335\" data-end=\"2499\">This may include administering medications, responding to health concerns, maintaining medical records, and promoting healthy practices throughout the camp session.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2501\" data-end=\"2532\">Medical volunteers may include:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"2534\" data-end=\"2687\">\n<li data-start=\"2534\" data-end=\"2551\">Medical Doctors<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2552\" data-end=\"2571\">Registered Nurses<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2572\" data-end=\"2589\">Graduate Nurses<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2590\" data-end=\"2617\">Licensed Practical Nurses<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2618\" data-end=\"2687\">Emergency Medical Technicians<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 data-start=\"2689\" data-end=\"2711\">Kitchen Volunteers<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"2713\" data-end=\"2806\">Kitchen volunteers help our cook prepare nutritious meals for campers, staff, and volunteers.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2808\" data-end=\"2992\">Typical duties may include food preparation, serving meals, washing dishes, cleaning, and helping keep the kitchen organized and running smoothly.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"2994\" data-end=\"3020\">Maintenance Assistants<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"3022\" data-end=\"3089\">Maintenance volunteers help care for and improve the camp property.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3091\" data-end=\"3282\">Tasks can include painting, lawn care, general repairs, outdoor clean-up, organizing equipment, and other projects that help keep LBC safe and welcoming.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"3284\" data-end=\"3308\">Childcare Volunteers<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"3310\" data-end=\"3438\">Childcare volunteers help care for the children of staff and volunteers while their parents are fulfilling their duties at camp.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3440\" data-end=\"3588\">They organize and supervise age-appropriate activities and help make it possible for more adults to volunteer.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"3590\" data-end=\"3624\">Volunteer and Save on Camp Fees<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"3626\" data-end=\"3791\">To encourage families to get involved, eligible adult volunteers can receive a <strong data-start=\"3705\" data-end=\"3760\">$30 per day deduction from camper registration fees<\/strong> for their child or grandchild.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3793\" data-end=\"3908\">The deduction may be applied even if you volunteer during a different camp session than the one your child attends.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3910\" data-end=\"4003\">Volunteers under 16 are not eligible for the deduction.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"4005\" data-end=\"4045\">Bringing Children While You Volunteer<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"4047\" data-end=\"4130\">Volunteers may be able to bring non-registered children to camp while volunteering.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4132\" data-end=\"4383\">Children who are camper age must be registered for camp, while non-registered children must be immediate family members normally in the volunteer\u2019s care. Medical information must be provided, and medications must be stored with camp medical personnel.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4385\" data-end=\"4719\">LBC provides childcare for children age 10 and under during the hours their parent or guardian is actively volunteering. Additional fees may apply depending on the child\u2019s age and the number of children attending. Youth over age 12 may also be able to assist with an appropriate volunteer role.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"4721\" data-end=\"4764\">Volunteering While Your Child Is at Camp<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"4766\" data-end=\"4884\">If you are volunteering during your child\u2019s camp session, we ask that you allow them to fully participate as a camper.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4886\" data-end=\"5126\">Camp staff remain responsible for your child during the session, and volunteers are encouraged to give their child space to make friends, participate independently, and enjoy the full camp experience.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"5128\" data-end=\"5158\">Volunteer Behind the Scenes<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"5160\" data-end=\"5212\">Not every volunteer role happens during summer camp.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"5214\" data-end=\"5391\">Throughout the year, volunteers support LBC through our Board of Directors, committees, work days, fundraising, property projects, communications, events, and other initiatives.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"5393\" data-end=\"5463\">We are especially interested in people with experience or interest in:<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"5465\" data-end=\"5561\"><strong data-start=\"5465\" data-end=\"5561\">Finance \u2022 Fundraising \u2022 Property \u2022 Promotions \u2022 Food Services \u2022 Human Resources \u2022 Governance<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"5563\" data-end=\"5708\">Whether you can help occasionally or want to take on a more regular role, we would love to hear from you.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"5710\" data-end=\"5735\">Volunteer Requirements<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"5737\" data-end=\"5947\">Because the safety of our campers comes first, all volunteers are required to complete a volunteer application and submit a <strong data-start=\"5861\" data-end=\"5886\">criminal record check<\/strong> before volunteering.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><\/div><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"parent":0,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"footnotes":""},"class_list":["post-1109","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v28.2 -
