Camp Should Be Accessible to Every Child

At Lumsden Beach Camp, we believe finances should never be the reason a child misses out on camp.

We maintain a dedicated financial assistance fund to help families with the cost of camp and other related expenses. Families may apply for any amount of assistance, based on their individual needs.

Support may be available for:

  • Overnight camp registration
  • Day Camp registration
  • Leaders in Training programming
  • One-to-one camper support
  • Transportation to camp
  • Camp supplies and equipment
  • Other camp-related expenses

How Financial Assistance Works

Financial assistance is awarded based on financial need, demand, and the availability of funds.

The priority application deadline is: May 1

Families who apply by May 1 will be notified of their assistance amount no later than June 1. Applications received after May 1 will still be considered; however, available funding may be more limited.

We encourage families to register their camper for their preferred session as early as possible so their spot is secured. Depending on available funding, some applications may be reviewed and approved as they are received.

Who Can Apply

Families who are living at or below the poverty line, or who are experiencing serious financial hardship, are encouraged to apply.

Financial assistance is awarded based on:

  • Financial need
  • Available funding
  • The number of applications received

Families may request any amount of assistance.

Things to Know

Families may apply for assistance for multiple children; however, each camper is eligible for financial assistance for one LBC session per year.

A new application must be submitted each year.

Financial assistance may be used toward any LBC program or approved camp-related support.

Your Privacy Matters

We understand that financial circumstances are personal. All applications are treated confidentially and are only reviewed by the staff members responsible for administering financial assistance.

If additional staffing or accommodations are required for a camper, only the information necessary to arrange that support will be shared with the appropriate camp leadership.
