Lumsden Beach Camp cannot guarantee a nut-free or allergen-free environment. We take reasonable steps to reduce exposure, but campers with life-threatening allergies attend at their own risk.
All allergies must be identified on the camper’s medical form. At check-in, the camp medical person will review the allergy with the camper and parent/guardian and create an appropriate response plan. Anaphylactic allergy plans will be shared with camp staff and documented.
Campers who use EPIPENS are strongly encouraged to bring two: one to keep with them and one with their counsellor. Staff will be informed of the proper procedure.
Campers must administer their own EPIPEN, though someone may assist them.
Any camper who experiences a serious allergic reaction must be seen by a physician and provide medical clearance before returning to camp.
